IUE-CWA union workers at the Leitchfield Leggett & Platt Plant returned to work on Monday.

180 workers walked off the job on May 27 when negotiations over a new collective bargaining agreement between company and union officials broke down. The union blamed company officials who wanted to takeaway some existing employee benefits.

The new five-year agreement was negotiated by local and district union officials, Leggett & Platt representatives, and a federal mediator.

Company president Larry Fruge said, "We a very pleased to have our employees back to work. This new five-year agreement gives us a better opportunity to serve our customers profitability and keep these jobs in Leitchfield, Kentucky."
