Companies that send SPAM e-mails to your computers may soon find hefty fines attached to those unwanted ads.
Kentucky House Speaker Jody Richards says he plans to push legislation that would curb unsolicited "spam" e-mails to Kentucky internet users.
Under the "spam" proposal, companies that send unsolicited e-mails could be fined up to $1000 for each e-mail. Companies that have products and services advertised in the e-mails would also be targeted.
Richards says the changes are necessary, because advertising through unsolicited e-mails goes above and beyond the usual newspaper and television ads, and are often pornographic in nature.
