Candidate Loses Battle to Have Political Ads Run

Attorney Kelly Thompson is running against Judge John Minton for a seat on the Kentucky Court of Appeals. Monday, Thompson filed a motion asking that WUHU-FM and WBGN-AM be forced to run his campaign ads.

WUHU General Manager Mike Thompson says the FCC gives stations the right not to air political advertisements in local and state races and they are refusing all ads in the 2003 election.

In his ruling, Judge Tom Lewis denied Thompson's motion, which means the stations will not be required to run his political ads.
