Volleyball Gains Popularity in BG

By  |

It's not necessarily the first sport that comes to mind when you mention summertime, but volleyball has gained quite a following in Bowling Green.

The Bowling Green Parks and Rec Department has constructed three new sand courts at Preston Miller Park that have played an instrumental role in setting up new summer leagues for success.

Several former professional or semi-pro players play in an "A" league, while a "B" league is offered for first-timers or those still polishing their skills.

New men's, women's, and co-ed leagues will begin play in the second week of August.

To sign up for one of the new leagues:

Call BGPR: 393-3249
Men-$50, Women-$40, Co-ed-$75
or Tammy Liscomb: 782-5773

The deadline to sign up for the new leagues is Friday, Aug. 1.
