When it comes to Halloween candy and costumes are the two necessities but sometimes the cost of the two can add up. In fact according to the Family for Consumer Science Halloween is the second most expensive holiday in the country next to Christmas.

Workers at Hobby Lobby in Bowling Green say more and more people are making their costumes. Customers say it's a good way to design their own, but that sometimes the cost can get out of hand.

Mike Fuqua, owner of Celebrations Party Shop, says these past few years costumes have gotten more and more expensive. He says parents are willing to pay the hefty price in order to have a quality costume.
