Flooding Update

Western Kentucky farmers are worried that the flood waters over the weekend caused extensive damage to their crops.

Ohio County Farm Service Agency Agent Larry Clayton said he talked to farmers who had as many as 400 acres of soybeans under water.

The heavy rains over the weekend have caused many farmers to delay their harvest of crops. State officials are still assessing how much damage the storms caused.

The Better Business Bureau is cautioning homeowners cleaning up flood damage not to become scam victims. The agency says it can provide a list of BBB members who can do the work.

A spokesman says if contractors won't put their plan in writing, consider that to be "a red flag" and shop for someone else. For more information you can log onto
