With the money that many of you donated to St. Jude Hospital for the Dream Home giveaway, 6,310 tickets were sold, which totaled $631,000 dollars.
The 2006 Dream Home winner was a shock to everyone, including the winner Debbie Zepf.
Zepf is from Wichita, Kan., and she purchased a ticket for the Dream Home when she was in Bowling Green two weeks ago visiting her sister and father. She never imagined she would be picked as the winner.
"I didn't believe it. I just thought they were pulling my leg and that it was a big joke," Zepf said.
Zepf said she was surprised because she didn't even realize the drawing was this weekend.
"Actually, I had forgotten about it. I got the receipts for the two tickets I bought in the mail on Friday, and I really thought the drawing had been last weekend," Zepf said.
Zepf's brother-in-law, who was watching the televised drawing was also surprised she had won.
"They said Debbie, which brought my interest up a little bit, and then they said Zepf, Witchita, Kan., and I just about flew plum out of the chair," said Zepf's brother-in-law Ronnie Conner.
"She was real hysterical. She couldn't believe that she had won something. She was real excited," said Zepf's sister, Sharon Conner. That's because Zepf says she has never won anything before.
"To win a house on the first shot is just unbelievable," Zepf said.
Shortly after the drawing Zepf's family in Bowling Green got to see the house for her.
Zepf said she hasn't decided just yet what to do with the house and at this point in time there she has no intent of leaving the community she is currently in.
Zeph's family is just excited that she's the winner.
"I've always hoped that myself or someone we know would win big and this is fairly big," Ronnie Conner said.
Zepf also said she hopes to make it to Bowling Green in the next couple of weeks to see the house.
