Warren County continues to caution area residents of sham home-improvement contractors.
We first brought you this story in September, but officials from the Warren County Contractors Licensing Board say the problem continues.
These unlicensed contractors go door to door saying they "just finished a job down the street" and they have extra asphalt or roofing left over that they're willing to unload at a price that's too good to be true.
Usually, the materials are inferior and the workmanship is shoddy.
In addition, the "cheap" prices go up long after the so-called contractor is gone and impossible to find.
Officials from the contractors licensing board recommend that you contact them before you hire a contractor you know nothing about.
That number is (270) 781-3530.
If you've already been a victim of this scam, contact the C.L.B. or area law enforcement.
