A suspect who escaped from a Nashville hospital and eluded police for two days has been captured in Indiana.
Gary Johnson was taken into custody by FBI agents at a pay phone in Indianapolis. Johnson had been in police custody at General Hospital in Nashville for breathing difficulties when he attacked a deputy on guard outside his hospital room and fled.
Police saie he resisted arrest on Oct. 3, 2006,when he was arrested on kidnapping charges and was shot with a taser.
Simpson County authorities did received tips that Johnson was seen at the Flying J Truck Stop in Franklin off of I-65. They searched abandoned barns and homes near exit two on I-65.
The FBI has obtained an arrest warrant charging Johnson with fleeing to avoid prosecution.
