On Oct. 6, 2006, the candidates for Allen County Sheriff participated in their own WBKO forum. Democrat Sam Carter and republican Jim Strain, had a chance to answer two questions and give a closing statement in a five minute period of time.
Both candidates, new to the race, had one minute to answer each question, and only one minute for closing remarks. Questions started with Sam Carter and listed below are the questions that were asked.
1. On the heels of the Allen County double murder trial and the threatening phone call, how would you as sheriff help ensure the safety of the people of Allen County?
2. Sheriff departments often face budget constraints and cuts. What would you do to make the Allen County Sheriff’s Department as efficient and productive as possible?
We remind you that Election Day is November 7th, and the last day to register to vote is October 9th.
