Bowling Green Picks Up Two New Grants for Downtown Revitalization

The Downtown Redevelopment Authority just got another big boost in its efforts to revitalize downtown Bowling Green.

The DRA and the City of Bowling Green accpeted two grants in Frankfort Wednesday from Renaissance Kentucky, that's a state-wide revitalization program that helps revive the downtown areas of communities throughout the state.

The city was given a $250,000 grant and a seperate one-million dollar grant. The one-million dollars is especially notable since Bowling Green just received a one-million dollar grant for redevelopment last week.

The million dollars will be used to buy more property in and around the circus square area, and the $250,000 will be used to restore the showroom on 601 State Street for use as a visitors' center and DRA offices.
