South Central Kentucky politicians, business leaders, and citizens turned out by the 100's for a groundbreaking ceremony on the dirt where the Kentucky TriModal Transpark will soon begin construction.
The first phase of construction will be a roadway corridor to link the industrial park to I-65, just more than a mile away.
Warren County Judge Executive Mike Buchanon and Bowling Green Mayor Sandy Jones officiated the ceremony, which included comments from Sen. Jim Bunning (R)-KY, 2nd District U.S. Rep. Ron Lewis (R)-KY, and Kentucky House Speaker Jody Richards (D)-Bowling Green.
Environmental studies must be completed before construction on the new roadway can begin. Officials for the $100 million project say they are in active discussion with prospective businesses for the Transpark, which is looking for its first commitment.
