Sarava Injured

The longshot winner of the Belmont Stakes, Savara, has fractured a foreleg in a workout at Churchill Downs and will be sidelined for the rest of the year.

Trainer Ken McPeek says the three-year-old colt was uncomfortable after the five-furlong workout Tuesday. An examination revealed the break that McPeek says will keep the colt sidelined for 120 days.
No surgery will be performed.

Sarava, whose 70-1 upset was the biggest in the 134-year history of the Belmont Stakes, was being pointed for Monmouth's Haskell or Saratoga's Jim Dandy as a prep for the Travers at Saratoga next month.
