Eight people remain in a western Kentucky hospital today after falling ill on a riverboat cruise.

More than two dozen people complained of flu-like symptoms while aboard the Mississippi Queen riverboat cruise. Seventeen passengers were treated at Methodist Hospital in Henderson, Ky.

Nine passengers were treated and released the same night, while eight more were kept overnight for observation. A hospital spokeswoman said the illness did not appear life-threatening and the remaining patients could be released.

The majority of the passengers stayed aboard the cruise as it made its way toward Saint Louis. The cause of the outbreak hasn't been determined.
