After watching his Hestand business burn down on Good Friday, Frances Bar-B-Que owner David Arms has announced plans to rebuild.
Now, the only question is where?
According to David's wife, Jennifer, the new Frances may not even be stationed in one place.
She says they've considered taking Frances on the road, bringing a concession stand to festivals throughout Kentucky and Tennessee.
That's only one of the ideas the Arms are considering.
"When I built this in 1977, it was the finest thing God had ever let me have besides my children," says Frances Arms, the founder of Frances Bar-B-Que.
Her son, David, has spent nearly every day in the restaurant since 1977.
"When I seen my mother pull up, knowing she loved this like a third child, I retired the cap that says, 'Mom likes me best'," David laughs. "I gave it to my little brother after I burnt the restaurant down."
The fire is believed to have started in the exhaust system.
Now, Frances wants David to bring the restaurant back.
"Not a morning goes by I don't sit and cry about it, but this is history," Frances explains. "It's gone now. We start a new life."
"I took NASA on, sent them an application and applied to be a rocket scientist," David says. "They turned me down, and they turned me down on being a captain of a space shuttle. Those were the only other two jobs I was interested in, so we're stuck with me bar-b-queing somewhere!"
David says he's considered moving Frances Bar-B-Que to Bowling Green or Tompkinsville, or even expanding to multiple locations.
That's not to say he's ruled out staying right where he is.
"We've got customers that are much more than customers," Jennifer explains. "We've been missing some friends, we feel like. We feel like we're missing some family cause we don't see them every week like we used to."
"I want to try and make the right decision, and I'll probably go nuttier than a fruitcake trying to figure it all out," David says. "I'm sure it will come to me."
David adds, the one place you won't be seeing Frances Bar-B-Que is in Glasgow.
He says a family member runs Big Moose's Bar-B-Que Smokehouse there.
