New Hearing For Former BGPD Officer

Bowling Green City Commissioners will set a date next month to re-hear the case involving a fired Bowling Green Police officer.

In late September Judge Steve Wilson reversed the city’s 2005 decision to fire Brad Fulks a five year veteran of the BGPD. Wilson ruled the city “violated due process” in the case by withholding witness statements giving Fulks late notice of his suspension and separating the charges against him.

Fulks was accused of four charges. They include:

  • Allowing under-age drinking in his apartment
  • Using a police department breathalyzer in his apartment
  • Disobeying a direct order from a supervisor
  • And acts bordering on stalking

In his ruling, Judge Wilson referred the case back to the City Commission. Mayor Elaine Walker tells WBKO a new hearing will be held in November, but the date will not be chosen until after Election Day on the seventh.
