Kentucky State Police Holiday Patrols

Troopers increased traffic patrols and checkpoints across the state, checking for driver's licenses, proof of insurance, and proof of registration.

KSP reports there were 11 fatalities in 11 separate accidents in the state, last Labor Day weekend. This year, troopers are participating in "Operation Care," or combined accident reduction effort.

The operation focuses on deterring speeding, impaired driving, and the failure to use safety belts.

Troopers have set up road blocks to check for all of these things to help keep you safe in your travels.
