Plans are quickly coming to life after the Tri-Modal Transpark receives a huge financial boost. Last week two United States Senators announced millions of dollars in funding that will likely be earmarked for the transpark.
ITA president Jim Vance says right now the project is only in the beginning stages and a construction crew has not been named yet. Starting early November though the money allocated by Senator McConnell and Senator Bunning will be used to start roadwork and develop a water and sewer system.
Vance says the transpark is 21-year long project that will develop through different phases. Construction will not begin until the final plans are approved by the city's planning and zoning commission.
