Campaign Truck Fire still under Investigation

An election crime is under investigation after a vehicle carrying a campaign sign for a family court judge candidate, Joy Denton, caught fire.

Just after 4 a.m. Nov. 7, 2006, the Bowling Green Fire Department found a 1999 Chevrolet Silverado pick-up truck fully engulfed in flames on Clay Street. The truck is owned by a volunteer for Denton's campaign and had a large sign in the back.

Fire officials said the truck had been parked at the Clay Street location since 8:30 p.m. on Nov. 6, 2006. A fire investigator was called to the scene, but the cause is listed as undetermined.
