In the aftermath of the midterm election, talk of who will run for governor next year is circulating throughout the Commonwealth.

Governor Fletcher was in Bowling Green to give the 2006 Economic Development Leadership awards at the Sloan Convention Center.

Fletcher said chatter of who will run, is normal this time of year.

"Of never know who is going to run...and certainly we'll wait and see what happens, but we've had tremendous success and start off in a deficit...we have a surplus now," Fletcher said.

"And I think when folks see what we've done they'll be very pleased with that. But you know who knows, there's always a lot of discussion this time in the election cycle and we'll wait and see what happens."

While, in Bowling Green Fletcher presented two distinguished Kentuckians with Economic Development awards. Among those honored were John Hindman of Louisville the vice president of public affairs for UPS Airlines, and Dr. James C. Votruba, president of Northern Kentucky University.
