Ford Cuts

By Associated Press |

Ford Motor Company is getting ready to make cuts.

Louisville’s two plants are getting no promises from the company. Ford Vice President Joe Hinrichs spoke at Louisville’s Galt House on Nov. 16, 2006, and said no plant is 100 percent safe. Ford is also trying to reduce its work force by offering buyout plans.

Louisville’s two plants employ nearly 9,000 workers combined. The Louisville Assembly Plant makes the Explorer and variations. The Kentucky Truck Plant produces the F-Series Super Duty Pickup.
