The Warren County Sheriff's office has begun a death investigation after a missing elderly woman's body is found in Bowling Green.
Yesterday afternoon at about 4 p.m., 84-year old Lillian Mae Smith was found near the Barren River's edge.
Many local agencies took part in the hours-long search for the victim.
Today, Smith was taken to the Kentucky State Medical Examiner's Office in Louisville for an autopsy.
The investigation into Smith's death continues.
