Ford to Slow Production at Louisville Plant

Company officials say Ford Motor Company will slow production at its Louisville Assembly Plant, which could lead to job cuts.

The plant produces two of Ford's flagship vehicles, the Explorer and Explorer Sport Trac.

Workers who have been considering buyout offers from the company have until next week to make up their minds. If enough workers take the deal, plant manager Joe Bobnar said there won't be a need for cuts. He made the statement in a letter to employees.

There are 3,200 hourly jobs at the plant. Ford spokeswoman Anne Gattari said details of a slower assembly line aren't final.
