One month ago three men, including a former police officer, were found guilty of murder for the death of Corinna Mullen after her body was found in the trunk of her car in Muhlenberg County back in 1987.

Final sentencing scheduled for this past week was postponed 30-days for Billy Fields, Jeff Boyd, and Jimmie Cramer, but Mullen's father says their family still feels closure.

"Family and I, we're just glad to get it over with," said Claude Mullen. "Thirty more days and it should be solved for good. I hope."

Claude Mullen was contacted and told the final sentencing would be postponed thirty days.

"The judge called, and I guess they had something to do," said Claude Mullen. "Of course I guess waiting this long, another thirty days isn't anything, but we'd just like to get it over with."

But he says everything will work out, and he finally knows the case is coming to a close.

It is because of that, he says there are many people to thank.

"If this had of came about ten years ago, I don't think it would have happened," said Claude Mullen. "I don't think everything would have come about the same because the right people then I don't believe would have worked the case. It would have turned out different. A lot of people are upset because it took so long, but we had to wait for the right time, the right people. Everything fell together at the right time."

He says he's held on to everything: pictures, drawings from Corinna's childhood, and birthday cards.

He's even kept the five-leaf clover he found shortly before the trial began.

"I promised a friend of mine who helped me for three years gather up evidence, he died of cancer, and he begged me not to give up," said Claude Mullen. "My wife, when she passed away, she asked me not to give up to, so we didn't."

The final sentencing for Billy Fields, Jeff Boyd, and Jimmie Cramer will be held July 6.
