This week kicks off south central Kentucky "taking a stand for children!"
"Stand For Children Week" began with a ribbon cutting that brought out area leaders and businesses.
It's a way for local agencies around Bowling Green and Warren county to remember how valuable children are to the community's future.
This year, organizers are encouraging residents to bring canned foods to our area's food banks to help keep children fed throughout the summer.
Canned goods can also be brought to The Stand for Children Celebration Event.
It will be Wednesday morning, 9 to 11:30, on Western Kentucky University's campus.
The event is free, and all children and adults are invited to enjoy the festivities.
