I no longer own property in the city, and now live in the county. However, I am in the city every day and have noticed a remarkable improvement over the last few years. No more junk and tall weeds in yards and sides of the streets. City housing projects, low rent areas and the neglected Delafield and older sections of town are being rejuvinated. The police are doing a great job in controlling graffitti, illegal drugs and gangs (punks). The mayors, city commissions and county officials have taken a bold and somewhat risky step to finance and commit our resources to improve conditions for the future. The economy will improve, but it may take time. I have an idea that 10 to 20 years from now, the leadership will be praised for their decisions in the past. Progress requires planning ahead, leadership and committment from the citizens.
