Just in time for the upcoming Christmas holiday, The Salvation Army has brought their thrift store back for shoppers and for those who want to donate.

"It helps the community. People come here who don't have a lot of money and buy stuff. Clients who come to the shelter and need clothing we give them clothing and get them back on their feet"
Says Captain Roy Hicks of The Salvation Army

The thrift store accepts anything from clothing and appliances to toys, shoes, belts and numerous other items.

Captin Roy Hicks of The Salvation Army is glad to see The Salvation Army thrift store return to the area.

"When I was a child The Salvation Army helped us, my mom was a single parent and it was something I always wanted to do"
Says Captain Roy Hicks of The Salvation Army

Which is why Hicks got involved with the program to help give back to others.

"Being able to help other people it's a ministry it's not just a job it's helping other people"
Says Captain Roy Hicks of The Salvation Army

The proceeds from the thrift store not only benefit those in need but the money will also help fund Salvation Army programs.

"The money that's left helps us to pay for gas and lights and people's rent and stuff it just goes right back into the community"
Says Captain Roy Hicks of The Salvation Army

You can ckeck out the thrift store at 400 West Main Street.
They are open Monday thru Saturday from 10 am to 4 pm.
