The Christmas spirit is lighting up Bowling Green, Ky. The Houchens Winter Lights sparkled at Basil Griffin Park for the eighth year in a row.
The Bowling Green Area Chamber of Commerce held the ribbon cutting for the annual event that brings Christmas light enthusiasts of all kinds. There are more than 500,000 lights within a one mile area at the park.
"This is just really a festival for the community to come; It's a great way to experience Christmas," Jaclyn Dunkelberger said. "It's a family tradition. People can just pile into the car; they come every year to see all the new light displays, which are all condensed into one area."
The Winter Lights display will be up until Dec. 31, 2006. It's $5 a carload, and $9 a busload.
