Western Kentucky University police are investigating an armed robbery. Just after midnight on Monday, August 21, two women were walking down the "Avenue Of Champions" in front of the "Downing University Center," when three males approached them, asking for a "light."

The girls continued on in front of the "Guthrie Bell Tower" when a Hispanic-looking male approached them, waving a black semi-automatic handgun, demanding their purses and money.

Two black males positioned themselves behind the victims and grabbed their purses. The three split up and ran toward "University Boulevard" and "Russellville Road."

The Hispanic male is described as 5-feet 8-inches tall, with short spiked hair. He was wearing a bright green t-shirt. One of the black males is six feet tall and wore a white shirt with blue or black stripes.
