The results are in... South Central Kentuckians are doing a better job of buckling up.
The Barren River Health Department has released its findings from the fourth annnual "Seat Belt and Child Safety Seat Survey" covering eight counties in South Central Kentucky.
The average rate of seat belt usage in those counties is now at 52 %, up nearly 2 % from 2002.
Despite the slight increase, officials say we still fall short of state and national averages. We're 13 % behind the state average and 17 % behind the national average.
