Bowling Green Mustangs member Gary Faust is using a past holiday experience to help others.

"Last year my house burned down three days before Christmas. I didn't really have a Christmas. I want to make sure everyone has a really good Christmas, so I thought this would be the best way to do it," Faust said.

So the roadster enlisted help from his group of Mustang lovers to come up with a way to make the holidays brighter for less fortunate children. They decided on a toy cruise.

Nearly 40 members gathered the morning of Dec. 10, 2006, with cars full of toys and hearts full of love.

"I think its a great thing that we did this. Its seeing the amount of cars and people and their toys just shows how strong the community is," Faust continued.

Coordinator of the Southern Kentucky branch of Toys For Tots, Greg Hudson is grateful for the Mustang club's generosity.

"It feels amazing. We know where those toys are going. They're going in the hands of children that need those toys," Hudson said.

Hudson also said groups like the Mustang club donating gives kids in our area a better chance to have something under their tree on Christmas Day.

"When we in turn work with other groups that bring us toys and we're able to distribute them, we know that those groups are doing a service to the community same as we are," Hudson said.

While Faust is proud of this year's toy cruise, he's already gearing up for a bigger one next year.

"We've already started planning for next year. We're planning on it being double the size it is this year. We're really trying to get the numbers next year and do more of a toy drive," Faust said.
