People in Simpson County, Ky., continue to mourn the loss of a teenager who was killed in a crash just days before his 16th birthday.
The Simpson County Sheriff’s office said 15-year-old Trevor Watson was driving on Witt Road on Dec. 5, 2006, when he lost control of the vehicle and struck a tree.
Watson and his passenger, 16-year-old Ashton Crafton, were flown to Vanderbilt Hospital. Watson was pronounced dead two days later. Crafton was treated for his injuries and released.
Both teens were members of the Franklin Simpson High School marching band. The band marched in silence in the Dec. 9, 2006, Franklin Christmas Parade in honor of Watson.
Crafton participated, in uniform and was pushed in a wheelchair along the parade route.
