A new report states that many Kentuckians aren't wearing seat belts and paying the ultimate price.
Kentucky State Police released the report saying that Kentucky is only two fatalities behind last years total deaths involving motorists not wearing seat belts.
So far this year, 452 of people who have died in accidents where not buckled. That's almost half of the total for all deaths involving motorists. Of those 854 total fatalities, 217 were wearing seatbelts.
Beginning January 2007 KSP will start issuing citations to those not buckled up.
