First they hit the garages. Now thieves are stealing stuff out of cars in the same neighborhood.
Back in October, Bowling Green Police investigated thefts from backyards in a Bowling Green, Ky. neighborhood.
Several thefts have occurred in the area of Glen Lily Road, including Shannon Drive, North and South Lee Streets and Crewdson Drive.
Someone was stealing lawn equipment such as mowers, weed eaters and leaf blowers from backyards and storage buildings. Other items such as fishing poles, tackle boxes and tools were reported stolen as well.
No one was ever charged with those crimes.
Now a rash of car break-ins are occurring in this same area. Things like loose change, C.D.s and car stereos are being stolen out of vehicles.
Several thousand dollars in property have been taken so far.

Police are also investigating the theft of $6,607.71 from the Barnes & Noble bookstore on the campus of Bowling Green Technical College.
Some time between last Friday afternoon, Dec. 8, 2006 and Monday morning, Dec. 11, 2006, someone cut a triangular hole in a back window of the store and removed the safe.
The thief then left through the front door. Police have no motive for this sizable theft.
