Two Sentenced in Big Simpson County Marijuana Operation

Two people are sentenced in federal court for their parts in a sophisticated marijuana-growing operation in Simpson County, Ky.

Fifty-six-year-old Gary Wayne Bullington of Franklin, Ky., was sentenced to three years and one month in prison. He also agreed to forfeit $30,000 in cash. In September 2006 he pleaded guilty to conspiring to manufacture 6,289 marijuana plants worth $3,327,000.

Fifty-nine-year-old Trudy Elliott Jackson of Louisville, Ky., was sentenced to a year and a half in prison. She admitted to conspiring to manufacture 1,574 marijuana plants worth $555,200.

These two, plus Dale Snoddy and Cecil Sherman Hume Jr. grew their marijuana under a barn on Craft Road in Franklin from 2001 to 2006.
