McCrary Receives Extra Recognition

A Warren County, Ky., teacher’s story resonates nationwide in USA Today. A series on members of The 2006 All-USA Teacher Team highlights outstanding teachers in the education section of the newspaper.

Cumberland Trace Elementary kindergarten teacher, Patrice McCrary was honored along with 20 others in October.

In today’s edition of USA Today you can read more on why McCrary was chosen for the honor. According to the article, McCrary begins each day on her knees, enabling her kindergartners to wrap their arms around her for a morning hug.

She’s quoted in the article by saying “she educates by seeing the world through their eyes.”

USA Today’s recognition program for outstanding k-12 teachers, awards the winners with $25,000 awards to share with their schools.
