The search is now on in Warren County for a new Executive Director for the City-County Planning Commission.
Andy Gillies is stepping down from the position and now heads to Texas, where he'll work as a planning director for Farmers Branch, a Dallas Suburb. Gillies says the move is "bitter sweet" and this is the best job he's ever had.
The Warren County official thanked everyone for their support Tuesday afternoon during a going away party in Bowling Green.
Gillies has been instrumental in many local projects. He developed standards for the Kentucky Trimodal Transpark, promoted the Greenways Trail System and worked to widen roads.
The Planning Commission is already beginning a search for a new Executive Director.
The position is posted and the committee will look nationwide to find a replacement.
