Along with United Way and other charities, another way you can show you care is as simple as giving blood this holiday weekend.

Today, the Southern Kentucky Chapter of the American Red Cross held a blood drive at its offices on Center Street from 1 p.m. until 6 this evening.

Red Cross officials say with the Fourth of July holiday falling on a Saturday this year, having a sufficient amount of blood on stock becomes even more important.

The Red Cross will also have another blood drive tomorrow from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 in the afternoon at its offices on Center Street.
