Health Department Grants

Twenty-four local health departments around Kentucky have received grant funding to improve their facilities, including some departments right here in South Central Kentucky.

Health Department Grants:

  • The Barren River District Health Departments in Hart and Simpson County.
  • The Monroe County Health Department and Muhlenberg County Health Department, all received $500,000 grants.

The funding comes from $10 million set aside by the 2006 General Assembly.

The health departments will use the funds for the construction of new facilities and to upgrade existing ones.

Governor Fletcher said on Wed., Dec. 20, that the funds address a pressing issue facing the Commonwealth and the needs of our health departments.
