Authorities say a Kentucky State Police trooper killed in a collision along an Eastern Kentucky highway the night of Tues., Dec. 19, had been turning onto a median and didn’t see the other vehicle.
KSP reports Trooper Jonathan Leonard died almost 18 years to-the-day from the last death of a Kentucky State Police trooper, in the line of duty.
A KSP spokesman said the driver of the other vehicle, 45-year-old Eugene Sisco Jr. is in critical condition today at University of Kentucky Medical Center.
State Police Commissioner, Jack Adams said 28-year-old Leonard was responding to a non-emergency call and was turning to meet another trooper on the median when the crash occurred.
Adams said details of the accident are still under investigation and no citations had been issued.
