Being without power during and after a storm can be a scary time for some.

In this week's Hometown Hero, one woman says she never realized how hard linemen work to bring power back to customers.

It was mid-June when strong storms hit our area, knocking out power to 7700 customers in Warren county.

At the time, Julie Eversoll was at work.

"When my sister called me at work, I'm about ten minutes at the most away from there. I was there within twenty minutes after the storm. The power people they were already there on site. They were already assessing what needed to be done."

The amount of time it took to restore power did not seem long to Eversoll when she saw their hard work.

"We could see everything that they were doing because obviously it was right there. It wasn't too bad. It didn't seem like that long with the amount of work that they did in that twelve hour period."

The linemen had to re-route power, replace seven broken poles, and fix a damaged sub-station.

"It was just amazing what amount of work they did in what I'm sure, people that didn't see what they were doing thought it took a long time to get their power back on, but us being right there seeing everything, it was amazing the work they did in that twelve hour period."

Eversoll says it was the best customer service she has ever seen.

"They were there. They were constantly in communication with us about what they were doing. They were concerned about our safety because that power line was running right where we were."

We honor the WRECC linemen as this week's Hometown Heroes.

By midnight the day of the storms, power had been restored to the majority of Warren RECC customers.
