A three car collision claims the life of a Bowling Green man.
Around 11:35 a.m. this morning, Tuesday, Jan. 2, Bowling Green Police responded to an accident at 1476 Campbell Lane.
Police said a 78-year-old female driver of a silver Buick Lesabre was traveling westbound on Campbell Lane towards Smallhouse Road when she drifted off the roadway and struck a blue Oldsmobile Sierra in the parking lot of Compton’s Auto Repair.
The vehicle was driven by a 29-year-old male waiting to pull out onto Campbell Lane. That vehicle continued on and collided with a blue Dodge Durango which was unoccupied and parked in the Merrick Place, east parking lot. The driver of the blue Oldsmobile died as a result of the collision.
“We don’t have all the facts at this time but nothing leads us to believe that alcohol or anything was involved of that nature,” said Officer Jerry Corbitt of Bowling Green Police.
Both drivers were transported to Greenview Hospital. The elderly woman is listed in stable condition.
Bowling Green Police are still investigating this incident. Police are not releasing the name of the victim at this time but they did say he is a Bowling Green native.
