Over the New Year's weekend, local law enforcement was out in force to prevent drinkers from driving. However, there were still those who chose to drive irresponsibly.
A total of 14 DUI arrests were made from Friday night, Dec. 29, to early New Year's Day.
Over a 160 citations were issued over the 3-day holiday.
Kentucky State Police Trooper Chad Winn said the numbers are actually lower than in previous years.
"I would say they'd be down a little bit from past years and part of that may be due to the fact that New Year's fell on a Sunday," Winn said.
KSP also responded to 13 minor accidents but noone were alcohol-related.
