Effective Jan. 8, 2007, there will be two new stop signs on Western Kentucky University's campus.
One stop sign will be added at the intersections of College Heights Boulevard and Avenue of Champions, in front of parking structure one. The other stop sign will be directly in front of the Downing University Center.
The purpose of these stop signs is to slow vehicular traffic and improve pedestrian safety.
Other pedestrian safety improvements that were completed as part of this project include installing additional speed humps and creating pedestrian zones in front of Downing University Center and l.T. Smith Stadium.
A map of the changes is available at www.wku.edu/transportation.
