Crime Stoppers: Copper Thieves

Thousands of dollars in copper are missing and police are asking for your help.

According to Police someone has been stealing copper tubing and wiring from local construction sites. They’re hoping you can help them catch these bandits.

On three occasions over the past four weeks, thieves have stolen copper tubing and copper wire from apartment buildings and homes under construction.

The thieves are tearing out the walls and insulation, removing the wiring and taking the tubing off the air conditioning units.

Police believe the stolen copper is being sold for recycling. The total loss is more than $10,000.
