RBC Tyson Bearings to Shut Down

A Glasgow plant is shutting down after 42 years in the Barren County community.

According to a company representative, RBC Tyson Bearings will shut down in March due to increased competition overseas. The company will shut its doors for good on March 6, 2007.

RBC Tyson Bearings produces tapered roller bearings for the truck market and opened in Glasgow , Ky., in 1965.

The plant's 83 employees were notified of the closing on Thursday, Jan. 4, 2007.
