The presidential race isn’t until next year but several people are exploring a possible run.
One is former Virginia governor, Jim Gilmore. An aide said the Republican filed papers with the federal election commission to form the Jim Gilmore for President Exploratory Committee.
Gilmore said in an interview last month, he didn’t see a true Conservative running for president. Gilmore was elected Virginia’s governor in 1997.
Rumors continue to swirl that Democrats John Edwards and Hillary Clinton and Republican John McCain will consider running in 2008.
