An area man may finally be released from prison after rape allegations against him are recanted.
Twenty-seven-year-old Ronald Osinger of Campbellsville was convicted of rape and sexual abuse in 2004. The alleged victims were his girlfriend’s three young daughters who have since said they lied about everything.
“These girls came forward and candidly testified in open court that these allegations were all false. They had promises made by the mom’s maternal uncle,” Osinger’s attorney, Ted Lavit said.
This morning a judge in Taylor County was asked to either release Osinger from prison or grant him a new trial. No word on when the decision will come.
Meanwhile Lavit said criminal charges could be brought against the uncle accused of bribing the children and coercing them into accusing Osinger of rape.
