Several area leaders receive recognition for being appointed to the state council for community education.
Governor Fletcher appointed 15 members to the council, which include Clarence E. Gamble of Olmstead. He is currently the president-elect of the Logan County Chamber of Commerce.
Debi Wade Jordan, of Bowling Green, is the executive director of Bowling Green-Warren County Community Education.
Larry K. Woods, of Morgantown, is the superintendent for the Butler County Board of Education.
Doctor Donald C. Butler, of Bowling Green, rounds out the list of local leaders appointed to the council. He is the executive administrator for Family Services Incorporated.
The Council advises the Commissioner of Education and the Department of Education for Kentucky on issues relating to community education programs.
It also makes recommendations for the funding of local community education programs.
