Ku Klux Klan Plans to Come to Bowling Green

A planned visit by the KKK to Bowling Green on Aug. 31 spurs city and county leaders to plan a rally that will celebrate diversity.

Bowling Green Mayor Sandy Jones and Warren County Judge-Executive Mike Buchanon received notification of the planned visit.

They responded by notifying local law enforcement and planning a rally of their own to promote diversity in the community. That is why they have proclaimed Aug. 31 Unity Day in Bowling Green and Warren County. The Unity Day activities will take place during the same time as the KKK rally.

The event designed to promote unity will take place from 12 p.m. until 2 p.m. at Girl's Inc. at 260 Scott Way. The KKK plans on meeting at the parking lot near the Warren County Justice Center.
